1)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 17mm (3.33 g, 1h). Horseman riding right / Bull running right. Rogers 166; SNG Copenhagen -; SNG München -; BMC -; SNG Christomanos -; SNG Evelpidis -. VF, dark brown patina, edge split. Very rare






2)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 16mm (3.48 g, 2h). Bearded head of Atrax left / Bull butting right. Rogers 162; Moustaka 21; SNG Copenhagen 27 var. (position of ethnic). VF, dark brown patina, a little porosity






3)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 20mm (7.86 g, 9h). Laureate head of nymph right / Horse standing right. Rogers 168 (same die as illustration); Moustaka 130 note; SNG Copenhagen -. Near VF, green-brown patina, a little rough. Very rare








4)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 18mm (4.05 g, 10h). Bearded male head right / Bull and horseman left. Unpublished. VF, dark brown, almost black, patina, light double strike on obverse. Very rare, only a handful known in private collections.








5)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 4th Century BC. Æ 16mm (4.75 gm). Horseman right / ATRA-GION, bull running right. SNG Copenhagen -; BMC Thessaly -; Lindgren II -. VF, dark green patina. Apparently unpublished; very rare city.

6)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 300-196 BC. Æ 20mm (8.47 g). Laureate head of Apollo right / Horseman advancing right; star to right. Rogers 169 var. (spacing of ethnic, without star); SNG Copenhagen 31 var. (same). VF, dark brown patina, light roughness.








7)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ 14mm (2.47 g, 6h). Laureate head of Apollo right / Horse grazing right. Rogers 167; SNG Copenhagen -. VF, green-black patin.





8)THESSALY, Atrax. Circa 400-344 BC. Æ (16mm, 3.76 g, 10h). Head of nymph right / Lion standing right; ATPA-ΓIΩN around. Unpublished in the standard references. Good VF, dark brown patina. Extremely rare.

This coin was apparently part of a joint issue with Gonnoi: cf. Rogers 226 and Moustaka 87
